Dr. Sherry Sixta graduated medical school from University of South Carolina School of Medicine. After completing her residency at Christiana Care Hospital Network, she went on to complete her training at The University of Texas Health Sciences and Memorial Hermann Hospital and The Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX. After working at a variety of trauma centers around the country, she joined the staff of Methodist Mansfield in 2024. In addition to her position as a trauma/acute care surgeon, Dr. Sixta is the acting Medical Director of the Neuro/Trauma ICU. Dr. Sixta is passionate about trauma education and holds several faculty appointments; including Associate Professor of Surgery at the Anne Burnett Mario School of Medicine. She serves on the AAST Palliative Care Committee and is chair-elect of the NCTTRAC Process Improvement Committee. When not caring for critically injured patients she enjoys time with two very active children. They all enjoy ski trips and other adventures around the country.
