Nanci has been in healthcare for over 20 years. She initially earned a BS in Biology from TWU in 1996 and then her BSN from Texas Christian University in 2001. She still feels privileged to have started her RN career in the Parkland ED and Burn ICU. She spent several years as a flight RN/paramedic. Given her love of critical care medicine, she went on to earn her Acute Care NP from University of Texas at Arlington in 2010. She earned her Doctor of Health Sciences in 2015. Nanci is currently an assistant professor of medicine who sub-specializes in the CVICU and NSICU at an academic institution in Portland.
