David Macias

David M. Macias is a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant and decorated Combat Medic (68W) with over 20 years of experience in military medicine and healthcare operations. He completed multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, providing frontline trauma care in high-intensity environments. As Senior Advisor to the Chair of Military and Emergency Medicine at the Uniformed Services University, David served as a Senior Tactical Instructor and co-developed the Department of Defense’s first Prolonged Casualty Care Course. He also led international efforts to establish the Tactical Combat Casualty Care Program for the Uganda People's Defense Force. David holds a Master of Science in Quantitative Management: Health Analytics from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He currently serves as a Senior Project Manager at Houston Methodist, supporting strategic initiatives that enhance care delivery and operational excellence. David is an active member of ACHE, MGMA, NALHE, and veteran healthcare networks.
