Cadaver Lab

This year, as a part of the 2023 Emergency Care Update Conference, CareFlite will be offering a procedural cadaver lab. The lab will be held at UT Southwestern in Dallas, providing clinicians with a unique and rare opportunity. Cadaver labs provide a real-life experience where medical professionals and students alike can advance their understanding of human anatomy and physiology and enhance their practical skills by exploring and working on human specimens. This exciting pre-conference course offers each participant, from EMR to Paramedic or nurse, the chance to have hands-on experience with a wide range of high-acuity/low-frequency skills. The lab will incorporate fresh cadavers, in conjunction with anatomical tracheas, lungs, and mannequins, to provide an environment to master both basic and advanced skills. Participants will also gain an in-depth knowledge of BLS/ALS airway techniques, surgical cricothyrotomy, bleeding control, vascular access including IV and IO, ventilation management with needle decompression, and thoracostomy. The faculty brings with them decades of experience and the many tricks and tips they have learned along the way. Regardless of certification level, every provider will gain new knowledge and a greater appreciation for the human body and the art of EMS!

Space is limited to 20 participants.
